Meet the team

Steve Rohrlack

Steve has been in youth ministry longer than he’s willing to admit. With his longevity comes a wealth of experience, knowledge, and insight. Steve serves at the Convention as the Team Leader for Church Strengthening and Discipleship (fancy, huh?) and the Generations Group Director. His heart is still in student ministry- sometimes it is hard to grow up and most student guys/girls can understand this!

He is married to his lovely wife, Linda, has two great kids, and we lost count of how many grandkids they have! You can find him hanging out with family or riding his Harley on the weekends.

Bryant Laird

Bryant is the Associate Director of Student Ministry. Bryant is from West Columbia, South Carolina and attended CIU. After graduation, he served with World Changers National Staff before he returned to Cayce to serve as a student minister at Trinity Baptist.

Bryant is married to Olivia and they have three children- Ryleigh Kate, Molly, and Christian. On the weekends, you can find him watching some Carolina football and attempting to play golf.

Kathy Miles

Kathy serves as the Associate Director of Preschool and Children's Ministry. She has a background in Church Weekday Education and is a VBS mastermind. She previously served at North Trenholm Baptist Church in Columbia, SC and joined our team in 2015.

Kathy is married to Jim and they have five kids- Meredith, Zach, Colin, Garrett, and Hannah. Her weekends are spent hanging with all of the family and working in her yard.

Mellette teague

Mellette was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. She came on board with us after her graduation from Clemson in May of 2014. She serves as our Ministry Assistant for Student Ministry.

Mellette married Travis in June of 2014 and they recently had their first child, Everett. They own their own coffee catering business on the side (She is not a coffee drinker. She is just married to one). Mellette has a huge heart for students and missions, specifically Kenya and Tokyo. And as she always likes to remind us, GO TIGERS!

Izzy McElveen

Isabella (or Izzy) is from Lugoff, SC. She served on our SummerSalt/KidSalt staff in 2018 and from there, was recruited to serve as the Ministry Assistant for Preschool and Children’s Ministry on the Generations Team.

She previously served as the worship leader and ministry assistant at Friendship Baptist Church in Lugoff. She is passionate about the next generation, in leading and equipping them to achieve true joy, peace and satisfaction through Christ. Izzy loves trying new food, singing, and showing off her super cool cat, Loki.
